Jill is the president and founder of Alkira Marriage and Family Therapy, P.C., is licensed to practice in New York State, and is a Certified Child Play Therapist (CCPT). Jill is a clinical member and approved supervisor of AAMFT, the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. She is also a member of AASECT, the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists.
I assist couples and individuals to work through life’s challenges by utilizing their strengths, exploring areas of growth and creating a new chapter in their life. We will work together to understand the patterns that have persisted and work towards healing.

Efrain earned his Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Syracuse University and is currently completing his doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Efrain is a licensed, Marriage and Family Therapist who also works at The Brownell Center for Behavioral Health Services serving mostly Spanish speaking individuals, couples, and families.
Kevin earned his masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Liberty University and is completing a doctoral degree in Counseling. Kevin has experience working with individuals, couples, and families. Kevin also has extensive experience with spiritual issues and can integrate Christian principles into therapy for those who desire a religious perspective. He is passionate about helping adolescents and young adults and their families with launching, boundaries, depression, anxiety and grief. Kevin believes that family members are interconnected and positive changes on one part of the system can affect other parts.
Kristin Ressel-Dickerson completed her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Syracuse University. During her time at SU, Kristin completed a certificate of advanced study in trauma-informed practice, and received additional training to assist members of the LGBTQ+ community, including transgender folks and their families at various points of their transitions. She has experience working with individuals, couples, and families dealing with a variety of difficult situations, including anxiety, depression, relationship problems, affairs, and grief. She works collaboratively with her clients to create a comforting space for positive growth. Kristin operates from an integrative approach to therapy, incorporating aspects of Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Gottman methods.

A graduate from Syracuse University, Natasha has been in practice for seven years. In addition to working as a Marriage and Family Therapist, Natasha has expertise working with individuals, children/adolescents, and families experiencing conflict issues, domestic violence, and trauma. As program coordinator at a local agency, she oversaw programs to help children and adolescents with behavioral issues and problematic sexual behavioral issues.
Her experience interfacing with multiple systems including schools, law enforcement, child protective services, and medical professionals gives her a unique ability to provide comprehensive care to every situation that requires it.
Tina completed her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northcentral University. Tina offers support and guidance to individuals, couples, and families who are dealing with issues that affect their relationships, mental health and well-being. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, Tina believes that all relationships have the potential to impact well-being. Her therapeutic approach highlights and develops client’s strengths to assist in helping with change and healing. Tina’s previous experiences in the work world and family life contribute to her focused and compassionate approach to therapy.
Erica completed her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and her Certificate of Advanced Study in Trauma-Informed Practice at Syracuse University. While at Syracuse, Erica was also trained to work with LGBTQ+ folks in exploring gender and sexuality, and offering support for those in the transition process. Erica has also facilitated a mental health and body image support group for those that had undergone various changes in their body and/or health. She has experience working with children, teens, families, couples; Erica also has passion for working with older adults and those with chronic illness to navigate the complexities of the mental and emotional burden on the client and their families. Life stages, changes, anxiety, stress, depression, and trauma, Erica can help you pull out your strengths and best self to lead a healthier, functional life.
Makalah has completed her graduate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Syracuse University with a CAS in Trauma. Makalah works with individuals, couples and families and strives to help them connect with others and themselves on a deeper level. Makalah believes in a strengths-based approach which entails helping clients identify and utilize their internal and external resources to create lasting change. As a systems-based therapist, Makalah encourages discussion to help partners and family members have a better understanding of each other’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Makalah aims to create a safe and comfortable space for all clients who are on the path of healing.

Tammy is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Northcentral University. Tammy works with couples, families, and individuals and helps them make sense of their individual and/or relational conflicts, whether they be communication, present day and/or deeply rooted struggles and patterns. She is warm, caring, and collaborative when working with her clients. She is passionate in helping clients navigate whatever gridlock that stands in the way between where they are and where they want to be.

Abby is a graduate student at Syracuse University currently working towards her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Certificate of Advanced Study in Child Therapy. Abby works with individuals, couples, and families and helps clients to identify how their emotions are related to their thoughts and behaviors. Abby views individuals as part of a system, and believes a systemic perspective is helpful with individuals and couples/families. Abby brings her passion for therapy, sincere care, and deep respect for every client into each session. Abby believes clients are the expert of their own lives and practices collaboration throughout the therapeutic process.
