Do you need someone to talk to?

  • Do you feel depressed or low, and it’s worsening?
  • Is it harder to escape your worrying thoughts?
  • Is your motivation for daily activities disappearing?
  • Are your relationships being stressed to the breaking point?
  • Are you feeling lonely and isolated emotionally, or perhaps there is no where to go to get alone time?
  • Are you excessively turning to shopping, substances, or other substitutes to cope?
  • Do you wonder if you are obsessing about the current COVID-19 climate?
  • Are your relationships with loved ones being impacted?
  • Are you worried about friends and family members who are providing health care?
  • Is someone you care about sick?
  • Are you unable to see your family?
  • Have you lost someone and you can’t gather together to grieve?
  • Do you have history with PTSD, and are symptoms returning or worsening?

During our current COVID-19 health crisis, we recognize that the needs of many of our clients have changed. Fears of joblessness, complicated grief and loss, and growing concerns about health and wellbeing have created a new landscape for us all.

Essential workers are at a greater risk for burnout and illness, those working from home are traversing new online terrains, and families and individuals alike are spending unprecedented amounts of time within the walls of their homes, together, or apart.

Children, teens and young adults are just as affected, but may not be able to express it effectively at home or even to themselves.

Those of us that are the “lucky well” might feel a kind of survivors’ guilt, and want to make good use of this time to become a better person and better human in our society.

Alkira therapists can help.

We are still the highly qualified, experienced, dedicated mental health professionals you know and rely on in person. And we are dedicated to meeting your emotional, relationship and mental health needs in the ways you need during this time in our history.

  • More availability: mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends, at times that are convenient to you while you juggle many responsibilities in the home. Session lengths can be as brief as 15 minutes to as long as 2 hours.
  • Insurance coverage. Our therapists are on many plans. We are knowledgable about changes to insurance policies, including the recent approval for teletherapy. Our on-plan insurances change every day-please inquire through email or leave a voice message.
  • A steeper sliding scale to keep therapy affordable for those clients who may have lost partial or full employment as a result of COVID-19 and have poor mental health insurance and high deductibles.
  • Video, phone, text, and email therapy are available.

Just how effective is online therapy?

Online therapy has been found to be just as effective as face-to-face treatment, and in many cases is more accessible for you. We at Alkira understand that the needs of our clients vary. Check out our blog about how to prepare for a teletherapy session.

You know you need assistance, but you’re wondering…

How can I connect with someone through a phone or screen?

We are caring human beings, capable of expressing care and support through our voices and eye contact. Alkira therapists know how to see you through the screen and really hear you over the phone, to ensure you feel seen and cared about safely. Ask for a 10 minute free consult using video or phone and discover for yourself how effective these modalites are with the right therapist.

What if we get interrupted?

Our therapists have two platforms ready for each session. If one platform is not working, we will switch to the second, or to using phone conversation. You being heard, understood and cared for is paramount-we don’t give up.

We also understand the vital importance of planning for sessions on our end and ensure complete privacy as well as no distractions. You will have our complete, uninterrupted attention.

What if my problem is too big for a video/phone/text format?

We are helping many people right now with problems that seem to big to them. Once you share your issue, you will feel better because we are compassionate, effective professionals with resources available for you. With our flexible day and time availability and multiple modalities of text, voice, video and email, we will help you through what you are struggling with, and we are trained to recognize if your problem needs more intensive support. If that is the case, we will work with you until you have the full services you need.

What if I can’t get time alone?

Email and text therapy are great options for privacy problems. You will get the best therapists communicating directly with you privately, and you will have the time you need to reflect and respond.
